Today, it continues to deepen its impact in ways that are practical, inclusive, and grounded in real student needs.The IC3 Regional Conference South Asia is one of the defining expressions of this evolution. This gathering is not only an event, but a space designed for deeper insight, collaboration, and community. It invites participants to pause, look inward, and rediscover the joy and purpose in counseling and education.

In 2026, counselors across the world will be experiencing one of those moments. Family dynamics are changing, stress levels are rising, and expectations from schools are higher than ever. As a result, challenging parent conversations have become a natural part of a counselor’s work.

For years, conversations in counseling offices revolved around a familiar set of study-abroad destinations. The United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada shaped global student aspirations in predictable ways. The “Big Four” were not just destinations; they were icons. They were where families assumed the best opportunities could be found, and where students imagined the beginning of successful global careers.

Student suicides in India have reached alarming levels, with over 13,800 cases reported in 2023, the highest in a decade, as per the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) 2023 report. Experts and educators stress that academic pressure, emotional stress, and lack of accessible counselling are key factors, highlighting the urgent need for supportive interventions in schools and homes.
