The dust has settled at the O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) campus, but the momentum generated at the first-ever IC3 Regional Conference – South Asia is only just beginning. Held from 23 to 24 January 2026, this landmark event brought together 161 delegates for an immersive residential experience designed to rethink the future of student guidance.

Students are navigating a world of limitless choices, shifting mobility trends, international opportunities, and rapid technological change. In this environment, counseling in schools has become a cornerstone of student readiness and well-being. Yet many schools, especially in underrepresented regions, continue to struggle with limited resources, understaffed counseling departments, or the absence of structured counseling frameworks altogether.

When disability is discussed in education, the focus often remains narrowly defined. Physical disabilities tend to dominate public imagination, shaping how institutions design policies, infrastructure, and accommodations. While physical accessibility is essential, this limited understanding overlooks a significant group of students whose challenges are less visible but equally impactful.

Career conversations in 2026 sound very different from even five years ago. Students are anxious. Parents are confused. Educators are unsettled. Layoffs dominate headlines. Entry-level roles seem to vanish overnight. Even top students struggle to convert degrees into meaningful employment. The question that keeps resurfacing is deceptively simple. If so many people are looking for work, why do employers still say they cannot find the right talent? At the IC3 Movement, this question matters deeply. Not because it reflects a temporary economic downturn, but because it signals a structural shift in how careers are formed, understood, and sustained.

Ritika Singh, Executive Director of the IC3 Movement, highlights that foreign university branch campuses in India maintain the same academic standards and quality benchmarks as their parent institutions. She notes that students graduating from these Indian campuses will receive degrees equivalent to those from the university's home location, with fully aligned curricula and assessment frameworks.

In January 2026, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) took a landmark step by making school counselling mandatory across all affiliated schools. "For the first time, we have a policy that unequivocally positions counselling as an integral part of school education, not an add-on," says Ganesh Kohli, founder of the IC3 Movement, which has spent a decade building a global platform for school counselling professionals.

The recent decision regarding NEET re-examinations has placed thousands of students in a state of academic limbo.
